Sometimes it can also be a little difficult to see if the liquid has actually been dragged into the sample slide - A quick test to see if it's transferred would be to use your phone's camera outside of the ExSeed app, if you place your phone on top of the device and then zoom in, you should be able to see the sperm cells. For a subset of sample with higher viscosity, they benefit from a longer liquefaction time (the 20min wait). In such instances we advise to leave the sample at room temperature for 45 minutes before rotating the lid again to mix the sample and then transferring it across to the glass slide. This is also a standard practice in clinics where samples are routinely left for 45-50mins before doing the analysis as there is no biodegradation of the cells for the first 60 mins at room temperature.
